A sample of 33 patients was selected from a total of 35 patients who were discharged from the rehabilitation program at the CECOSAM public treatment center in Nueva Imperial during 2019. Data recorded in the patients' clinical records were used. The information was analyzed using an Excel spreadsheet and the analysis was carried out using statistics and descriptive measures of dispersion.
Results: The distribution by sex in the sample was 93.9% men and 6.1% women. The mean age was 36.3. A 69.7% of the patients were single, 18.2% married and 9.1% divorced. A 51.5% of the population did not complete high school and only 12.1% had access to higher studies in university centers. A 75.9% of the patients belonged to Fonasa A or B and 24.1% to Fonasa C or D. A 30.3% of the population identified themselves as belonging to an indigenous people. A 81.8% of the patients had support networks when they entered the program and 18.2% didn´t. The main substance of consumption was alcohol (66.67%), followed by cocaine (15.15%).
Discussion: It is suggested to take into consideration the sociodemographic factors of the different populations to better elaborate the addiction programs at the national level since these can influence the consumption of substances, in the admission and the maintenance in the addiction programs.
