Cirugía correctiva de la coartación aórtica en adultos. Experiencia de 16 años

Objetivo: Evaluar los resultados obtenidos en el tratamiento de la Coartación aórtica con diferentes técnicas quirúrgicas.
Métodos: Siete pacientes con diagnóstico de coartación aortica, intervenidos en un periodo de 16 años, utilizándose la aortografía como método diagnóstico confirmatorio.
Resultados: Las alternativas quirúrgicas empleadas fueron la resección y anastomosis aorto-aórtica término-terminal, resección y puente aorto-aórtico término terminal con prótesis, aortoplastía con parche de dacrón, puente aorto-aórtico latero-lateral, y puente subclavio-aórtico latero-lateral con prótesis. La serie no presentó morbimortalidad postoperatoria ni durante el seguimiento.
Conclusión: La cirugía de la coartación aórtica puede ser llevada a cabo con excelentes resultados mediante diversas técnicas, cuya aplicación varía según las características anatómicas de los pacientes y la experiencia acumulada por el equipo quirúrgico.
